Everything you need to know about print, packaging, design, proofing and delivery — straight answers from the people who run the presses.
Minimum order quantities vary by card type, because finishes such as spot UV, foil stamping and die-cutting each need their own setup. Tell us the variant and quantity you want and we will confirm the minimum for that job when we quote.
For most corporate brochures, 130–170 GSM art paper for inner pages with a 250–300 GSM cover gives the best balance of print quality and hand-feel. For a premium feel, 170 GSM inner pages with a soft-touch laminated 350 GSM cover is our most popular specification for B2B presentations and real estate sales kits.
Offset printing uses physical plates and ink rollers — it produces superior colour accuracy, handles large volumes cost-effectively, and is the standard for corporate print runs above 500 pieces. Digital printing skips the plate-making step, making it faster for short runs (under 200 pieces) but with slightly less colour consistency across large batches. We use offset for almost all production at RoboSouls.
Spot UV is a high-gloss, raised coating applied selectively to specific design elements — typically a logo, headline, or image — against a matte background. It creates a striking tactile contrast that makes those elements stand out visually and physically. It's one of our most popular finishes for premium business cards, brochure covers, and packaging.
Soft-touch (velvet) lamination is a matte film coating that gives printed material a smooth, slightly rubbery texture — similar to a premium smartphone. It's scratch-resistant, fingerprint-resistant, and immediately communicates premium quality. Widely used on luxury packaging, high-end business cards, and premium brochure covers. It pairs excellently with spot UV for a tactile contrast effect.
The standard business card size in India is 90mm × 50mm (3.5" × 2"), matching the international standard. We also produce slim cards (90mm × 45mm), square cards (55mm × 55mm), and fully custom die-cut shapes. All sizes are available in our full range of paper weights and finishes.
Turnaround depends on the page count, the binding and the finishing involved. Rush production is available in some cases and is handled case by case. Send us the specification and your deadline on WhatsApp and we will confirm the schedule.
A rigid box is built from thick greyboard (2–3mm) and holds its shape permanently — it cannot be collapsed. It communicates premium quality and is the standard for luxury goods, gifting, electronics, and high-value product launches. A foldable carton is made from thinner board (250–450 GSM), ships and stores flat, and is assembled at the facility or by the end user. Rigid boxes cost more and take longer to produce, but deliver an unboxing experience that foldable cartons cannot match.
A magnetic closure box is a type of rigid box with hidden neodymium magnets embedded in the lid and base, creating a satisfying, secure snap closure without visible fasteners. They're used for luxury gifting, electronics, jewellery, and premium product launches. Available in portrait and landscape orientations, with or without interior trays, and in single or double-layer configurations.
A dieline is a flat 2D technical drawing showing exactly where a box will be cut, folded, and scored to create the finished 3D structure. Before production, we either create a custom dieline for your specifications or audit your supplied dieline for production readiness. An accurate dieline prevents costly errors in tooling, material waste, and structural integrity.
Yes — interior printing is one of our most-requested add-ons. We print full-colour graphics, brand patterns, social handles, QR codes, and unboxing messages on the inside of rigid boxes, mailer boxes, and foldable cartons. Interior printing transforms an ordinary delivery into a brand experience and is particularly effective for premium product launches and corporate gifting.
Our packaging finishes include: Matte lamination, Gloss UV, Soft-Touch (velvet) lamination, Anti-scratch coating, Spot UV, Gold foil stamping, Silver foil stamping, Embossing, Debossing, and Crystal UV (velvet + spot UV combination). For the most premium result, soft-touch lamination with spot UV on key elements is our most requested combination for luxury packaging.
Gloss lamination adds a shiny, reflective surface that makes colours appear more vibrant — ideal for photography-heavy and colourful designs. Matte lamination gives a flat, non-reflective finish that communicates sophistication and restraint — better suited to minimalist and text-heavy designs. Matte is currently the preferred choice for luxury packaging. Anti-scratch and soft-touch are premium variants of matte with better durability.
A mailer box is a corrugated, self-locking box designed to ship products safely without additional outer packaging. They're the standard for e-commerce brands, subscription services, and corporate gifting because they're fully printable inside and out, arrive flat-packed for efficient storage, and create a branded unboxing experience. We produce mailer boxes in 3-ply and 5-ply corrugated for different weight and protection requirements.
Yes. We offer custom design as part of our end-to-end service — we create print-ready artwork from your brief and brand guidelines. Alternatively, we work directly with your existing designs or your agency's files. If you supply artwork, we review it for print readiness (resolution, bleed, colour mode, dieline accuracy) before going to press.
Preferred formats are PDF (print-ready with bleeds and crop marks), AI (Adobe Illustrator), or EPS. For image-heavy files, ensure all embedded images are at minimum 300 DPI at final print size. We accept JPG and PNG as reference files but do not print from these directly due to resolution and colour profile limitations. When in doubt, export a print-ready PDF with outlined fonts and embedded links.
CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key/Black) is the colour model used in physical printing — colours are created by layering four transparent inks. RGB (Red, Green, Blue) is the screen colour model and produces colours that often cannot be reproduced in print. If you supply artwork in RGB, colours will shift noticeably — sometimes dramatically — when converted to CMYK. All artwork submitted to us must be in CMYK colour mode. We flag RGB files during our pre-press check.
Bleed refers to extending your background colour or design elements 3mm beyond the final trim edge on all sides. Because industrial cutting machines have slight mechanical tolerances, without bleed a thin white border may appear on the finished print. All our dieline templates and print specifications include bleed guides. We check for adequate bleed during our pre-press review and flag any issues before production begins.
A colour proof is a sample produced before the full run to verify colour accuracy, registration, and finish. We issue a digital proof (PDF) for sign-off on every job. Physical hard proofs — actual printed samples — are available on request and strongly recommended for brand-critical colours and first-time packaging runs; whether a sample is chargeable depends on the job and we confirm that when we quote. Colour is matched to the proof you sign off, so we ask you to review it carefully.
Yes — we provide dieline templates for all our standard packaging structures in PDF and AI format. For custom sizes or non-standard structures, we create a bespoke dieline as part of the project. If you already have a dieline from your designer or a previous supplier, we audit it against our production specifications before confirming the order.
Our 7-stage process: (1) Brief — we understand your requirements, quantities, specifications, and deadline. (2) Design — we create or review your artwork. (3) Proof Approval — digital or hard proof sign-off before production begins. (4) Production — in-house offset printing, packaging construction, and specialty finishing. (5) Quality Check — every batch inspected against the approved proof. (6) Packing — bulk-packed to prevent transit damage. (7) Dispatch — tracked pan-India delivery.
Lead time runs from written approval of the final proof, not from first contact, and depends on the quantity, the finishing and whether custom tooling is involved — a foiled and die-cut job occupies more of the line than a flat one. Rush production is available in some cases and is handled case by case. Send us the specification and the date you need stock in hand, and we will confirm the schedule when we quote.
Yes — we ship pan-India to all major cities and states including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and beyond. For bulk B2B orders, we coordinate directly with your logistics team or warehouse. International shipping is available on request.
For standard products like business cards and brochures, we can supply samples from existing stock. For custom packaging, we produce a physical prototype or pre-production sample before the full run. Samples are free or chargeable depending on the job, and we confirm the sample schedule and any cost when we quote. For large or complex orders, we strongly recommend this step.
We run a 5-point quality check: pre-press file review before plates are made, press pull approval on the first sheet, mid-run colour and registration inspection, post-run quality check against the approved proof, and a final packing inspection before dispatch. Our press team has trained eyes for colour shifts, registration errors, and finishing defects — issues are caught and corrected before they reach you.
Orders can be cancelled in full before proof generation with a full refund. Once artwork is approved and production begins, cancellations are not possible as materials have been committed. If we produce work that deviates from the approved proof — misprints, colour errors, structural defects — we reprint or refund at no cost. We recommend reviewing all proofs carefully before sign-off as client-approved artwork errors are not eligible for reprints.
Minimum order quantities depend on the product and the finishing involved, because setup work such as dielines, plates and foiling blocks is fixed regardless of run length. Share the product, the quantity you have in mind and your deadline, and we will confirm the minimum for that specific job.
Seven things shape a packaging spec: the material, meaning greyboard thickness, paper grade and corrugated ply count; the size; the quantity; the print coverage, whether full-colour or spot; the finishing, such as foiling, embossing or specialty coatings, each of which needs its own tooling; any inserts, whether foam, pulp or cardboard; and the lead time. Tell us the product and quantity and we will recommend a specification.
Yes. Many clients batch quarterly requirements into a single larger run rather than reordering piecemeal, which reduces repeated setup work and keeps colour consistent across the year. Share your annual print calendar and we will plan production around it.
Rush production is available in some cases and is handled case by case, depending on the job and our current production schedule. Contact us on WhatsApp with your deadline and we will confirm whether it is feasible.
Yes — verified corporate clients with regular print requirements get a dedicated account manager, and several enterprise clients run on retainer arrangements covering their complete annual print calendar. Our standard commercial terms are 50 percent in advance and 50 percent on delivery; anything else is agreed account by account. Contact us to discuss setting up a corporate account.
The fastest way is WhatsApp — share your product requirements, quantity, size, and deadline and we'll come back with a specification and a quote. Alternatively, fill out our contact form or email info@robosouls.com. Yes — we serve both ends of the spectrum. For early-stage companies we can guide you on cost-effective specifications that punch above their budget, and on the quantity that makes the economics work for your run. For enterprise clients like Samsung, Amazon and Vodafone, we manage large-volume, multi-SKU print programmes with consistent quality across every run. Across 25,000+ projects delivered we have handled everything from a first short run to multi-lakh-piece rollouts.
We produce for 15+ industries: FMCG and consumer goods, real estate and construction, healthcare and pharma, retail and e-commerce, hospitality and food & beverage, education and publishing, technology, automotive, corporate enterprises, financial services, events and exhibitions, wellness brands, jewellery and luxury goods, and manufacturing. Each industry has specific print requirements and quality standards — we're familiar with all of them.
Yes — several of our clients are on retainer arrangements where we manage their complete print calendar: quarterly brochure updates, annual report production, seasonal packaging refreshes, and monthly stationery replenishment. We store approved dielines, Pantone references, and brand specifications for repeat clients so every reprint is perfectly consistent with the last.
We match Pantone (PMS) references using ICC-profiled offset printing. For exact Pantone matching, provide your Pantone code in the brief. Note that Pantone-to-CMYK conversion can produce slight variations depending on paper stock and coating. For mission-critical colour matching — packaging, brand identity elements — we strongly recommend ordering a hard proof before the full run.
